Development of Consumer Price Index of South Minahasa Regency in December 2024

Abstract

In December 2024, South Minahasa Regency experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation of 0.34 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.77.

Y-on-y deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in several expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.86 percent; clothing and footwear group by 3.43 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.84 percent; transportation group by 0.22 percent; information, communication and financial services group by 0.94 percent; and personal care and other services group by 2.12 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced inflation were the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.52 percent; the health group by 0.27 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.69 percent; and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 3.08 percent. Meanwhile, the education group experienced no change in the index.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate of South Minahasa Regency in December 2024 were 0.16 percent and 0.34 percent, respectively.
