Area Sample Framework
(KSA) Survey are carried out every month in the span of the last 4 or 7 days of
each month. Like the previous months at the end of June, the officers took to
the field to fight back to the rice fields, fields and fields. KSA Survey is an
innovation in measuring harvest area in the context of improving crop
production data involving BPS, Ministry of Agriculture, Geospatial Information
Agency, BPPT, National Land Agency, and National Aeronautics and Space Agency.
The KSA method is expected to be able to improve the harvest area data
collection method based on the results of the eyes of the data collection
officer (eye estimate) so that it can answer the provision of data and
information that is accurate and timely to support the planning of the National
Food Security Program. With the KSA method it is expected that harvested area
data will be more accurate and timely. Through the KSA observation phase
information can also be known harvest estimates for the next few months. Of
course this is very useful for the government in determining national food
program policies.
In KSA activities in Minahasa
Selatan Regency there are 38 KSA Paddy segments and 74 KSA Corn segments. Each
enumerator will observe the growth phase of rice and corn in each sub-segment.
The plant growth phase consists of initial vegetative, final vegetative,
generative, harvesting, land preparation, puso, paddy fields and not paddy
fields. Data collection officers use andorid-based applications, namely the KSA
application to determine the growth phase and will take pictures with the
application and upload them directly on the KSA server, so that the
determination of the growth phase of plants by officers is also evidenced by
visual images. So the officer must really come to the location of the
observation
In the Corona Virus
Pandemic situation (Covid-19) KSA data is considered very important because it
is used in estimating the availability of food data. The World Food and
Agriculture Agency (FAO) has warned of a possible threat to the world food
crisis. The impact of the spread of the Corona virus (COVID-19) which is
currently already affecting almost all countries in the world directly or
indirectly will greatly disrupt the process of world food production. This food
scarcity will force countries in the world to prioritize their domestic food
needs. This certainly will greatly affect the pattern of global food
distribution throughout the world. During this pandemic, almost all countries
were very selective in the entry and out of the flow of goods and people to
minimize the opportunity to spread COVID-19, including Indonesia
Hopefully
KSA's data collection in June will run smoothly and KSA officers will always be
given safety and health.
